We are aware of the impact that manufacturing has on the environment and do our best to minimise any disruption. In this respect, wood is one of the most flexible materials as it can be recycled, is biodegradable and is a renewable resource.
We source our timber from reputable suppliers who comply with the various codes in place and who are actively seeking to ensure that timber purchased is from certified and sustainable sources.
Our suppliers include Timbmet who have a policy of increasingly purchasing timber from credibly certified legal and well-managed forest sources and is a member of the WWF UK Forest and Trade Network. Taw Valley Crafts also supports and adheres to the policies prescribed by Forests Forever.
We also make every effort, on a more local level, to encourage recycling and low wastage policies. All paper, cardboard and plastic bottles are recycled, and we have an arrangement with the factory next door whereby intact cardboard boxes are given to them for their mail order purposes. Wood waste is also recycled via a network of local fireplaces!
